Becoming A FreeRange Accountant

The new year is always a good time to reflect and set goals for the next 12 months and near future. Much like myself, many will have set out goals and outlined the steps required to achieve your goals over the next coming year.

Earlier this week, I walked into a bookshop with my kids and picked up a book called “Be a Free-Range Human” by a young Australian Author, Marianne Cantwell. The title struck a cord with me as it mentioned something that I’ve always been working on.

Becoming a "Free Range Accountant”

As I read further, I found that Marianne had identified something that I and many business owners have in common. In order to achieve a successful business, it must give you 3 things - Money, Time and Less Stress.

"The formula for a successful business"
"A Successful Business = More Money + More Time + Less Stress. "

In a nutshell, this means we should be free doing - what we want, when we want, with whom we want, earning more money, having more time and being able to enjoy a work-life balance. I love the book and its concept as it resonates so much with what we are doing for Accountants and Bookkeepers around Australia.

In the past 12 months, we have helped many Accountants and Bookkeepers increase net profit, doing more valuable and meaningful work for their clients, being able to choose who they want to work with and have more time back for themselves.I absolutely enjoy our work as it reflects with what we believe in,

freeing our Clients from their Work Cage and “Being a Free-Range Human”.

Have you ever felt like you are in a Cage of 9-5 office hours, in a Cage of doing Compliance work, of meeting Deadlines, and haven’t done enough for yourself, your family and your clients?

It is clear that Compliance is not going away, Deadlines are not going away, Demands from clients are not going away. The Accounting Industry has become more and more competitive as clients want more Value-added work (not only compliance, BAS and Tax Returns). Other firms have outsourced their compliance work, spending their time working on advisory for their clients and cementing their client relationships.

So, what do you have up your sleeve for the New Year 2020? Are you ready?

Make your 2020 a great year and start becoming "A Free Range Accountant”!
